Williamsburg’s Grand Illumination celebration truly kicks off the holiday season with classic elegance. Historically Grand Illumination is the moment when all of the candles in the windows were lit simultaneous. This reflects the English tradition of placing lighted candles in the windows of homes and public buildings to celebrate a special event.
