  • Simply the Best!
    5 / 5 stars

My wife and I stop off in Williamsburg once a year on our way to the beach. The past two years has allowed us to stay at the Liberty Rose and it’s a fantastic place to stay. Sandy is as generous, kind and informative as it gets and this past year was no different except for the fact of having her son Michael there. A chef to say the least with a long history of cooking from different parts of the world along with a great personality only led to another memorable stay. Upon entering the B&B you’ll see antiques everywhere and a very clean “home” as we call it. The bedding is fresh along with robes and towels in the bath just the same. It’s a quite relaxing place with absolutely beautiful gardens to admire from your room or to stroll along at your leisure. Now for the food :)We had a breakfast that was to die for. Michael used herbs for his breakfast that were hand cut that morning from their garden along with figs off one of the trees on the property. The raisin bread was out of this world as we’re the pears being warmed in a sauce. The eggs were better than I have ever had and the morning coffee this year was French pressed and killer. We are sure to frequent this place yearly and if we ever go through Williamsburg at any other time it will be the only place we’ll stay. We love it, love the owners and only wish we could stay more often. Give it a try and believe me you will not be disappointed.

  • Life’s little pleasures are found here
    5 / 5 stars

I needed a place to get away and truly unwind and pamper myself. This place was the place. I hadn’t been to Williamsburg since I was a very young child. It was a perfect fall weekend. I couldn’t have asked for any better service, food or company. I consider this place my sanctuary and plan on visiting twice a year.

  • Outstanding Stay

My wife and I stayed at the Liberty Rose to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The stay was phenomenal. We chose the #Rose and Dine option, since we were not familiar with the Williamsburg area and wanted a nice meal as part of our celebration – we were not disappointed. The meal was a 4-Course, Plus 2 and Chef Mike was incredibly accommodating, bringing each delicious course with perfect timing. The room was as incredible as the meal. Beautifully decorated, spacious and accommodating. The Liberty Rose was easy to find, yet the evening was quite and free from road noises. The only sound to interrupt us was the chirp of the cicadas in the trees. Breakfast the next morning was as delicious as the dinner had been the night before, fresh fruit with a creamy yogurt/whipped cream topping, followed by herbed scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and a French-toasted bread pudding. Yummy. In sum, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Liberty Rose. The food was fantastic, the Rooms were charming, and the staff was gracious and accommodating. It was a great value.

  • Unclassified Gem! The B&B Experience of a Lifetime…
    5 Stars! / 5 stars

Our Liberty Rose stay was beyond category. Owners–curators, really–Sandi and Michael have created an art experience at every sensory level. The interiors are an utterly original take on Colonial design, call it Thomas Jefferson meets Jefferson Airplane. Exquisite touches in the small detail, everywhere. The grounds are another small miracle, from the kitchen garden based on an 18th-century design, to the seating area under magical lights. But the food may be the reason we’ll want to come back a thousand times. It wasn’t part of the room cost, but it put us in a delicious culinary coma, and with our bed just a few steps away, we drifted off into smiling sleep…

  • Best Breakfasts In My Entire Life

My wife and I have made it a tradition to visit Williamsburg every year for a getaway to relax and rewind. Having stayed in several B&Bs in the Williamsburg area, we have found the Liberty Rose to be our favorite. The Rooms are decorated with wonderful antiques that both of us love to be around and we absolutely love to sit in the garden to enjoy the smells of the flowers and relax under the trees that are iluminated with wonderful lights. But the best part of the Liberty Rose is the hosts. This year we stayed June 13, 14 and 15th and Sandy was out of town, however her son Mike filled in as host. We love Sandi and we missed her on this trip, however Mike was an absolute excellent host and I must say that he is a fantastic cook. My wife was on a low fat, low sodium diet and I was concerned to see what the breakfasts would be like. Turns out, Mike produced the best beakfasts I have had in my entire life. Each morning it was different and seemed to be better than the day before. My wife and I did not want to leave.

Thanks Mike for the great stay at the Liberty Rose.

  • Absolutely Stunning
    5 / 5 stars

Looking for a place to stay on a recent trip to Williamsburg my husband found the Liberty Rose on line and said “I found a place for us to stay” . We noticed it was a little more pricey than others but he said I deserved it and you only get what you pay for. Boy was he right! Sandi turned out to be the best ever. She was very personable, and was very knowledgable about the history of the house and Williamsburg. Her attention to details is 2nd to none with the rooms so clean, fresh towels and bedding and a breakfast to die for. After my stay I felt I have know her my entire life. The entire grounds outside and every room inside were immaculate and all had a story to tell. Rooms filled with antiques only added to the charm. It was quiet and only a short distance to Colonial Williamsburg. We will now make this our yearly place to stay while in Williamsburg and can’t wait for the return next year. Thank you and see you next year.
